Class Descriptions

TAI CHI-I (Beginning Level)

Perfect for the beginner of any age. This class teaches the basic principles of Tai Chi: breath work, spinal alignment, stance, footwork, and fundamental movements. The focus will be on learning the, 12-Step Yang Style Short Form. The class will also include, Shaolin and Chi-Kung, warm-up exercises. Wear loose, comfortable clothing and flat-soled shoes (socks or bare feet are fine, too. Please, no street shoes. It is suggested that you bring a change of footwear to class if you need them.)

TAI CHI-II Intermediate level)

This class goes beyond the basic 12-Step Short Form and officially enters you into the first of three sections of the,108-Step Long Form. Learning the entire Long Form is a journey that can take up to 2 years or more to complete, so this class is for individuals who want a little more challenge and are dedicated to moving forward with this beautiful exercise. Students keep re-enrolling in Tai Chi II until at least the first section is completed before proceeding to Tai Chi III. More advanced warm-ups and principles will be introduced.

TAI CHI-III (Advanced Level)

For the serious student who has completed at least the first section of the Long Form in Tai Chi II, and wishes to proceed in learning the more complex 2nd and 3rd sections. This is also for students who have completed the Long Form but wish to perfect it. This class is broken into at least two group levels after the initial warm-up so students can learn and work on new movements within class with senior and student instructor supervision. This is a 90-minute class to allow for more practice time.
